KABUL): Parliamentary bloc “Sada-i-Adalat” (the Voice of Justice) on Saturday formally announced its formation.
“The group is aimed at striking national unity, ensuring the supremacy of law, pressuring the government to be answerable to public representatives and supporting freedom of speech and democracy,” said Asadullah Sadati, a lawmaker from central Daikundi province and a member of the bloc.
He said the 32-member bloc would try its best to prevent injustices in the country. He said Shah Gul Razai, a lawmaker from southern Ghazni province, would lead the caucus, and that Zabul representative Abadul Habib Andiwal would serve as his deputy.
Speaker Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi called the group’s formation a sign of improvement in Afghanistan’s democracy. “It is a positive step to form a group and fight for the rights of the people,” Ibrahimi remarked.
Parliamentarians have already formed two similar blocs, including Saba (Dawn) and Sola Karwan (Peace Convoy).
