PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Three tankers carrying fuel for international troops were set alight in central Logar province on Thursday morning, an official said.
Militants torched the supply vehicles on the Logar-Kabul highway in the Ali Khan area near Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, the police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Col. Rogh Lewanai said the attack, which happened at 7am, caused no casualties. The militants fled the scene after attacking the tankers that were coming from Kabul to Pul-i-Alam.
As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident. Their spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said three fuel tankers in the convoy had been destroyed.
