Intelligence agent gunned down in Ghazni

GHAZNI CITY (PAN) in southern Ghazni province, officials said on Sunday.

The incident took place late on Saturday in the Bazazi area on the outskirts of Ghanzi City, the provincial capital, said Lt. Col. Allah Nazar Ziayee, the provincial police crime branch chief.

With an investigation launched into the murder case, no one had been detained so far, Ziyaee told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Noor Khan, a store-owner in the area, said he heard multiple gunshots and rushed to the scene. He saw the NDS agent lying ina pool of blood at a roadside.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility for murder, saying the victim was the investigation chief at the intelligence department.
