TIRINKOT (PAN): Two people were killed and a third, a woman, injured when a passenger vehicle hit a landmine in the Gizab district of central Uruzgan province on Sunday, an official said.
The explosion took place in Ghoril area at around 6pm, police spokesman Farid Ayel told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The dead included two men and a woman lost her hands and feet in the blast, he said, accusing armed insurgents of planting the mine that killed civilians.
Meanwhile, police said a suicide bomber was shot dead before reaching his target in Tirinkot, the provincial capital.
