KABUL in northern Faryab province, where about 40 people lost their lives.
In a telephone conversation with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the ruler said he was deeply saddened by the event and assured continued support for Afghanistan, especially in the peace process.
Dozens of people, mostly security men and civilians, were killed when a man wearing an explosive vest blew up himself outside a mosque, as worshippers where congregating for the Eidul Adha prayers at about 9:30 am.
Karzai had called on Abdullah on Friday evening to greet him on the occasion of the Eid celebration.
He also thanked Saudi Arabia for their relentless support to Afghanistan.
