PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): A multi-million contract to build a 38-kilometre road in the northern province of Baghlan was signed between the Ministry of Public Works and an Afghan construction company on Wednesday.
Public Works Minister Najibullah Awzan, who witnessed the contract signing with Per Mohammad Road Construction Company, told reporters the project would be funded by the ministry’s development budget.
The road linking Khinjan, Banu and Andarab districts would be completed within two years at a cost of $15.8 million, said the ministry’s deputy minister Hajji Mohammad Akbar Barakzai.
Director of the company, Eng. Abdul Raqeeb Safari, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the project also includes five bridges and several culverts.
