KABUL): A master’s degree programme aimed at capacity building of 20 senior Ministry of Finance (MoF) officials was officially launched on Sunday, the ministry said.

In his opening remarks, Finance Minister Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal said he was delighted to see the master’s degree program for core MoF officials  had officially been launched. He looked forward to a long-term strategic relationship with UNITAR and the graduate institute of Geneva.

UNITAR Local Development Program manager Alex Mejia: “I am very delighted and honoured to be counterpart with the ministry of finance and part of the capacity development programme.”

The degree programme was initiated under a memorandum of understanding signed between MoF and UNITAR in Geneva, Switzerland on January 30.
