KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Four civilians were killed and eight others wounded in a bomb blast in the Shah Walikot district of southern Kandahar province on Tuesday, an official said.
The target was an Uruzgan police patrol vehicle, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News. The injured included four policemen, he said.
Javed Faisal added civilians were also present at the site at the time of the roadside bombing. The injured were discharged from hospital after being administered first medical aid.
With the Taliban yet to comment on the incident, the gubernatorial spokesman blamed the militants for planting roadside bombs that harmed civilians and security personnel.
