HERAT CITY (PAN): An Afghan trader is funding the constructing of an orphanage in western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.
Abdul Zahir Bashiri, the owner of a private firm who is financing the facility, told Pajhwok Afghan News the objective was to support orphans.
The orphanage, being built on six acres of land, will have four sections, each having four storeys. The $600,000 project would take a year to complete, Bashiri said.
Maulvi who is training 400 orphans, appreciated the trader’s gesture and said all his students would move to the facility once it was completed.
