LASHKARGAH (PAN): Three policemen, including an officer, were killed in a car suicide attack in the Greshk district of southern Helmand province on Wednesday, an official said.
The incident took place around 9.am when an explosives-laden car hit a police pick-up in the Shorab area of the district, Helmand police spokesman, Shah Mohammad Ashna, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A police officer and two of his subordinates from Washer district were killed in the blast that occurred as soon as the vehicles collided, Ashna said, adding four civilians were wounded.
As usual, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the bomb attack. The group’s spokesman, Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, said foreign forces in Greshk were the target.
