HERAT CITY/CHARIKAR): Seven militants were killed in the Bala Murghab district of Badghis province while two others were arrested with magnate bombs in central Parwan province, official said on Sunday.
The Badghis governor’s spokesman, Mirwais Mirzakwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban Abdur Razzaq — was killed along with six associates.
He said that militants were killed in a clash after they attacked a security check-post in Morchaq area. A policeman and a civilian were also injured in the encounter.
On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousaf Ahmadi claimed the militants had killed three policemen in the assault. He said the Taliban suffered no casualties.
In Parwan province, two people were arrested who wanted to attach magnet bombs to a NATO fuel convoy, said Col. Lutfur Rahman Rashad, crime branch chief. The suspected rebels were held in Jangal Bagh area with a motorcycle and two magnet bombs.
