KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Provincial ruler rehabilitation and development department on Tuesday announced completion of 170 development projects under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) in northern Kunduz province.
The NSP is a campaign launched by the Ministry of Ruler Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), enabling locals to initiate direly needed projects.
Engineer Mohammad Qasim Amiri, acting head of ruler development and rehabilitation, told Pajhwok Afghan News asphalting of 340 kilometres road, construction of 124 kilometres canal, digging of potable water wells, construction of 124 kilometres canal and 180 culverts were among the projects completed under the NSP.
He said 56,000 families would benefit from the projects which had been completed worth 260 million afghanis provided from the MRRD budget, including contribution by the locals.
Officials of the MRRD said another 429 projects under the NSP were underway in the province which would benefit thousands of residents in province.
