MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): More than a dozen people were killed in a car accident in northern Sar-I-Pul province, an official said on Saturday.
The casualties happened as the vehicle the civilians were travelling in slipped over snow and overturned in Kohistanat district late on Friday.
Sar-i-Pul police chief, Col Sakhi Dad, told Pajhwok Afghan News 13 people including five women and children were killed in the accident.
About 50 people have been killed due to heavy snowfall and cold weather conditions in different parts of the country.
