SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): The installation of gas turbine by an Indian company would help reduce electricity shortage in northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Sunday.
Residents of the provincial capital and some districts currently consume power imported from Turkmenistan. They often complain of low voltage and interrupted power supply.
Eng. Mohammad Hussain Saleh, the Shiberghan mayor, said authorities planned to install gas turbines with assistance from the Indian government.
He added the turbines would be powered by gas. However, he did not say how much the turbine would cost. During the new solar year, the province will have high voltage electricity supply.
