GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A public uprising group commander was killed along with three companions during a clash with insurgents in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province on Monday, officials said.
Deputy Governor Ahmad Ali Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the early morning incident took place in Konsap area.
Abbas, who spearheaded the anti-Taliban militia, was killed and his three men were injured in the firefight, he added.
But an official in the area, wishing not to be named, said Abbas and three others members of the uprising group had died in the clash.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the incident that came about two years after the uprising began in Andar. So far both sides had suffered many casualties.
