KABUL finished fourth and clinched seven medals, including three silver and four bronze, in the just-concluded 7th South Asian Judo Championships in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
Fifty-nine athletes from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka took part in the championships that started on April 10 and wrapped up on Sunday (April 13).
A seven-member Afghan team, including Abdul Fahim Fazly, Muhsin Zaki, Shah Wali Muhsin, Ihsanul Haq, Mohammad Tawab, Mohammad Taufiq Bakhshi and Fahimi Rezai, participated in the event.
According to the SAJC site, Afghan athletes won three silver and four bronze medals, but failed to win a gold medal.
Hosts Nepal finished third with a lone gold medal and India finished champions with 10 gold, one silver and a bronze medal.
Pakistan ended up second with three gold, three silver and six bronze medals and Sri Lanka won two silver and four bronze medals.
