ASADABAD/QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Five security personnel were killed in two separate incidents in Kunar and Badghis provinces, officials said on Thursday.
Governor Shujaul Mulk Jalala said three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing in the Mazar valley of Noor Gal district.
But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said five security personnel had been killed in the bomb attack. He gave no further details.
Separately, two Afghan Local Police members were killed during a clash in Kandlan area on the outskirts of Qala-i-Naw, said the deputy police chief for Badghis province, Lt. Col. Mohammad Qayyum Angar.
