KABUL’s tribal region of North Waziristan, have returned to Kurram Agency, a news report said on Friday.
About 500 displaced families had arrived in Kurram Agency from Khost province, Political Agent Riaz Mehsud told reporters. He said basic facilities, including transportation, had been provided to the displaced people.
Health workers provided polio drops to 2,186 children at the border. The returning families said that they had gone to Afghanistan because of a curfew in Waziristan.
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is scaling up food distribution aiming to reach approximately half a million displaced people from Waziristan.
A statement from WFP said since the start of food distribution on June 22, it has provided 15-day food rations to over 4,600 families in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts.
