KABUL (Pajhwok): Ministry of Defense on Thursday said an investigation was ongoing into an attack that killed a US general and wounded 15 other soldiers at a military academy in Kabul.
A man wearing an Afghan National Army (ANA) uniform opened fire on International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops on Tuesday noon, causing multiple casualties.
MoD spokesman Maj. Gen. Zahir Azimi tweeted an investigation into the incident had begun and the outcome would be publicised after the probe was completed.
According to initial information the attacker, identified as Rafiullah, had been an ANA solider for the past two and half years, Azimi said.
Some source said the ANA soldier, hiding in a bathroom, came out and opened fire at the US forces at close range.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but Taliban have praised the shooting by the solider.
