KABUL Media Support Organization, NAI, on Thursday urged on participants of Wales summit to help protect independence of media and human rights in Afghanistan.
Abdul Mujib Khilwat, the NAI executive director, said this while condemning the Ghazni attack in which an employee of a local radio network suffered injuries.
A brazen attack on NDS building by militants in southern Ghazni province left 19 assailants, 12 security persons dead and 154 civilians, including 18 security personnel, wounded.
Khilwat said Rahim Arya was critically wounded while three others journalists were badly beaten by the NDS officials when the former were discharging their professional duty.
Last year, he said three journalists were killed but six journalists had been killed in the last eight months of the current year.
NAI demanded the leaders attending the Wales summit to ensure freedom of expression and protection of human rights during the meeting.
