Massoud named president’s special rep

KABUL (Pajhwok): Ahmad Zia Massoud, a senior member of the Change and Continuity team, was appointed on Monday as President Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai’s special representative on reforms and good governance.

Under Clause13 of Article 64 of the constitution, Massoud had been appointed to ensure good governance and reforms, the Cabinet Secretariat said in a statement. An ex-VP, he has rich experience in managing the country’s affairs.

Earlier in the day, President Ahmadzai mentioned in his maiden speech Massoud’s appointment as his special representative. He served as a senior member of Ghani’s team in the presidential election process.
