WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): Afghan citizens held anti-Pakistan’s internal affairs.
A large number of Afghan nationals gathered in Washington on Monday, holding placards inscribed with anti-Pakistan and anti-Inter Services-Intelligence (ISI) slogans.
Afghan Wakil Wafa, a protester, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghans from different states of the US had gathered to express their anger over Pakistani interference in their country.
“We want the US Congress to help stop Pakistan’s meddling in our country’s affairs. We want lasting peace in Afghanistan,” he added, asking Islamabad to give up expansionist designs.
Dr. Jalil Ahmadzai, another demonstrator, demanded the US adopt a strict stance against Pakistan. Many women also participated in the rally in front of the Congress.
Habibi, a female protester, said: “We are here to tell the world we want peace and stability in our country.” At the end of the rally, a resolution was adopted, calling upon the US and the UN to put an end to the Afghan war.
At the same time, anti-Pakistan rallies were held in Toronto and London, denouncing Islamabad’s role. The demonstrators said Pakistan could not achieve stability as long as Afghanistan remained in trouble.
