KABUL (Pajhwok): Twenty people were confirmed killed and 45 others wounded in a suicide explosion outside the Supreme Court (SC) in capital Kabul late on Tuesday, an official said.
Col. Faridon Obaidi, the 101 Asmai police zone crime branch chief, told reporters at the site of the blast that 20 people had been killed and 45 wounded in the explosion.
SC employees and common people were among the dead and wounded. The suicide bomber was on foot and detonated his explosive devise at around 4:00pm, said Obaidi, who did not provide further details.
Public Health were the dead and a child among the injured people.
President Ashraf Ghani strongly denounced the blast and termed a wild act and against humanity.
“The enemy of Afghanistan again showed their enmity with people by carrying out yet another suicide blast,” a statement from the president’s office quoted Ghani as saying.
Expressing his deepest regret over the loss of precious lives, the president prayed for quick recovery of the injured.
