KABUL (Pajhwok): Chinese Foreign Minister Wáng Yì on Saturday arrived in capital Kabul on unscheduled visit, a reliable government source said.
Yi would meet President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah and other Afghan key figures during his visit.
National Security Council (NSC) spokesman Qader Shah confirmed to Pajhwok that Chinese foreign minister has arrived in Kabul.
He said National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar welcomed him to Presidential Palace.
Shah said the Chinese foreign minister visit took place after a meeting between President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his Chinese counterpart during recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Astana.
He said during the visit bilateral relation, the Kabul Process, regional cooperation, economic and trade ties would be discussed.
Shah did not provided further detail regarding the visit, but earlier President Ghani had said that Beijing was ready to mediate between Pakistan to resolved outstanding issues.
