Filicide: Herat man flees after killing 18-month-old daughter

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A man in western Herat province on Sunday killed his 18-month-old daughter after she refuse to hug him, police said.

Police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada said the incident happened before noon in the 14^th municipality district of Herat City, the provincial capital.

“Kolsum’s father asked her to give him a hug but her refusal made her father angry and he smashed her head against walls of the room. As a result, she died,” he said.

Walizada added the man named Baran fled the area after the filicide and police had launched a search for him. The child’s mother confirmed the incident and said her daughter was killed by her father.
