GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Four insurgents have been killed in an airstrike by the Afghan forces in southern Ghazni province, officials said on Monday.

Ghazni police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman told reporters in Ghazni city, the provincial capital, that police had arrested three individuals with poisonous material in Gilan district.

“These men wanted to poison police personnel and then hand over their posts to the Taliban. However, they were detained before reaching their goal.”

Meanwhile, police detained two individuals with two magnetic bombs in Ramak area of Deh Yak district, said Zaman, who said the detainees wanted to attach the bombs to security forces’ vehicles.

The detainees were paraded before reporters. The police chief said the detainees would be referred to the attorney’s office for further investigation.

Ghazni police spokesman Fahim Amarkhel, meanwhile, said Afghan air forces pounded Taliban hideouts in Payloch area of Deh Yak district on Sunday, killing four insurgents.
