CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Seven people have been killed and an eighth injured in a traffic accident and other incidents of violence in central Parwan province, an official said on Saturday.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman Mamozai told Pajhwok Afghan News an 18-year-old girl named Mena was shot dead by her brother in the Menara village of Jabal Saraj district on Saturday morning.
Under unknown circumstances, Navid shot dead her sister — a student of 10th class. The murderer managed to flee the area while police have launched a search operation.
Also on Saturday, two young men — who had a dispute — were killed in crossfire in the Telanchi area of Charikar, the provincial capital. They traded gunfire after coming face to face in the area.
Elsewhere, four people were killed and one injured in a traffic accident, said Mamozai. The car they were travelling in from Siagardto Charikar skidded off the road and overturned.
Civil Hospital Director Dr. Abdul Qasim Sangin confirmed receiving the bodies of a teenage, two men and four more from the accident site.
