8-member group of kidnappers busted, child rescued

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel have detained a group of eight kidnappers and rescued a child from their captivity in southern Zabul province, an official said on Saturday.

Gulistan Sidique, provincial NDS director, told here the intelligence operatives arrested the kidnappers during special operation in Bikabad area of Taloqan City, the provincial capital.

He said they had also abducted a child named Mudassir Khan. Mohammad Sharif, father of the child told Pajhwok the group demanded amount of $100,000 in ransom against the release of his 11-year-old son.

According to spy-network, the detainees have confessed their crime.
