KABUL party has welcomed the US-mediated peace talks and insisted these talks should be led and owned by the Afghans in order to protect the country’s past 17 years gains.
In a statement, the Junbish party, led by First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, said the decades-old Afghanistan conflict needed a political settlement.
The party under these principles and looking at the current situation in Afghanistan, wanted an end to the purposeless war and paving the way for peace and stability in the country.
It called on all Afghans to play their part in achieving the historic moment of peace and end to the 40-year-old war.
The Junbish party also denounced the sacking of second deputy chief executive officer Mohammad Muhaqqiq and two Turkmen ministers from the Cabinet, saying such acts and breaking of promises would harm the people’s trust in the government and the spirit of unity. “We strongly condemn such one-sided acts,” the statement said.
