PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Three people were killed including a woman over a land dispute between two families in Khost district of northern Baghlan province, police said on Thursday.
The two families first entered a verbal clash and then a gun battle over inherited land in Woghab village, police spokesman Ahmad Javed Basharat told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said three people were killed on both sides and the dead included a woman. He said those involved in the armed clash had fled and police were trying to arrest them.
Khost district chief confirmed the incident and the deaths. He said first a young man verbally clashed with an elderly man whose son then fired at the young man in anger and killed him.
In retaliation, a relative of the slain person opened fire at the killer’s family, killing two persons including a man and his wife.
