Only presidential election on September 28: Official

KABUL elections together with the presidential vote, a credible source said Wednesday.

The source, who wished anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Independent Election Commission (IEC) would also announce its schedule for new election plan later today.

The IEC had previously said that presidential, provincial council and Wolesi Jirga elections in Ghazni province would be held together.

The Wolesi Jirga or lower house elections were conducted on October 20 and 21 in 2018 in the country, except in Ghazni province.

Currently 11 representatives of Ghazni province are continuing their duty from the last term in the Wolesi Jirga and they will remain on the seats until fresh elections are held in the province.
