KABUL (Pajhwok): An intelligence operative has been shot dead in front of a private university in Kabul, an eyewitness and an official said on Thursday.
The intelligence agent, who was also a student of the Kardan University, was gunned down by another student after a verbal clash, said Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior.
Rahimi told Pajhwok Afghan News that the security forces were conducting an investigation into the incident.
Asked whether the student was shot dead by bodyguards of Fardin Almas, a son of Haji Zahid Almas, a senior advisor to President Ashraf Ghani, he said Kabul police had been tasked with probing the murder.
An eyewitness, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Khalid — the intelligence operative — always harassed and insulted students in university — was killed by Fardin Almas’s guards.
He explained Fardin Almas was not present at the time of the murder. He was attending his class.
When approached by this scribe, Haji Almas’ office refused to comment on the issue.
