KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Members of the National Peace Movement (NPM) have asked parties to the conflict to observe ceasefire and start intra-Afghan talks.
Hikmatullah Sulhi, head of the Peace Movement, said that fighting in Afghanistan in Khost City, the capital of southeastern Khost province.
He said in order to end fighting and bloodshed, conflicting parties should observe ceasefire and then reached an agreement through intra-Afghan talks.
“The people of Afghanistan are tired of ongoing fighting, there is widow, orphan in every house. We Afghans want peace; we don’t want peace from Americans or other foreigners. Only Afghans can bring peace in the country,” he said.
Saifullah, another member of the Peace Movement, said through building pressure on the Taliban and government, the peace movement want them to set and start intra-Afghan talks.
Hafeezullah, the resident of Khost City, said fighting underway in Afghanistan since 1979. He said the people of Afghanistan are tired of fighting and don’t have the patience to witness more fighting and bloodshed.
