KABUL (Pajhwok): The Environmental Task Force Team have suspended the activities of some factories, hotels, bathhouses in capital Kabul and sealed its heaters systems.
Shah Zaman Maiwand, head of the National Environmental Protection Authority (NEPA), said a joint team has been formed from the members of Kabul Municipality, Police headquarters, deputy police chiefs of the police districts to monitor the deteriorated environmental situation in the capital.
The activities of four factories —– Behsud Bamyan Steel Mill, Baheer Group, Khalid Arab Aluminum Production and Kabul Kaghaz — had been stopped and added the process would continue to make sure that the pollution of Kabul City is reduced.
He said these factories are situated in the Industrial Park area of Kabul City and their activities had been stopped because their heating system was not slandered therefore it was sealed.
The heater system of seven buildings — Sultan Tower, Amini Tower, Mashallah Tower, Burg Kohi Noor, Al Safi Plaza, Kart-i-Chahar Plaza and Nasrat Plaza, haven stopped because of having no filtration facility.
In addition, the environmental task force stopped two hotels and one bathhouse from activities because of having no standard system for of heater.
