PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Three hundred agriculture projects worth 100 million Afghanis will be implemented in Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province and its four districts, an official said on Wednesday.
Agriculture Director Abdullah Tasal told a gathering here that among these projects, 60 are raisin storage facility, 120 storages of onion and potatoes, 20 apple storages and 100 tomatoes drying facilities.
Tasal said these projects would be built in the provincial capital, Khoshi, Charkh and Baraki Barak districts.
Governor Mohammad Anwar Ishaqzai said the projects will cost 100 million Afghanis in which 10 percent would be shared by farmers.
Ishaqzai said these projects would help improve the economic condition of farmers and besides exploring market these projects this will help surge in the export of and import of fruits and vegetables.
He said these projects would help generate work opportunities for some 25,000 people and will be completed in three months.
Haseebullah Stanikzai, the Provincial Council head, termed the implementation of these projects vital in current circumstances and asked people to lend cooperation in implementation of these projects.
