Ghani confers Masjidi Khan medal on German envoy

KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday conferred the Ghazi Mir Masjidi Khan state medal on outgoing German Ambassador in Kabul Peter Prugel.

Presidential Palace spokesman SediqSediqi tweeted that the state medal was given to Pruget upon the end of his mission in Afghanistan as a tribute to his remarkable and tireless efforts for peace and development.

He said the Afghan government was thankful to the European Union for its remarkable declaration

Sediqi quoted President Ghani as saying at a ceremony in this regrard that “standing for values that empower women, ensure democracy, enable peace in true sense are things that we hold deeply in common, and that (EU) declaration has embodied the spirit.”
