KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Some people in southern Kandahar province on Saturday staged rally in front of Iranian Consulate General asking the neighbouring country to end atrocities against Afghan refugees and demanded explanation to recent unpleasant incidents in the neighouring country against Afghans.

The rally participants chanted against Iran and condemned recent brutalities against Afghan migrants in the neighbouring country.

On June 04, Iranian security forces opened fire on a vehicle with some Afghans aboard in the Yazd province recently that sparked anger of people in the country.

The car caught fire, leaving one Afghan dead and some injured. One of the injured persons is apparently asking Iranian security personnel for water in a video clip circulating on the social media.

The incident followed torture and drowning of some Afghan migrants by Iranian security officials in the border area one month earlier.

Hikmatullah Salehi, a civil society activist and one of the rally participant, said tens of youth from, influencial persons and elders from Southern Zone took part in the rally.

He termed majority of political leaders of the country spies of Iran and said they dropped tears over the killing of an Iranian terrorist Solaimani but their mouths were fasten to speak against the killing of their own people.

He warned their protest rallies will continue if Iran don’t stop middeling in Afghanistan internal matters and brutalities against Afghan refugees.

Haji Mullah Naik Mohammad, another participant of the rally, said government and the nation should get united against the atrocities and interference of Iran.

He termed Iran a terrorist nation and asked the international community to impose more sanctions against Iran.
