KABUL’s export to Pakistan will resume next week.
The diplomat tweeted: “Thanks to Pakistani government for agreeing to resume imports from Afghanistan via Torkham and Chaman as well as opening of the Ghulam Khan crossing from June 22.”
He added that Ghulam Khan crossing would open for both imports and exports.
Mashal wrote: “All this will hopefully start happening by the due date after technical meetings between Steering Committees of both sides from June 15-18.”
He added the two sides were working closely to make the Ghulam Khan crossing a transit route soon.
Meanwhile, officials in Nangarhar said the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, customs and transport departments were working on a mechanism to start exports from the province to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
