KABUL Cup, says veteran spinner Rashid Khan.
Cricket fans across Afghanistan also expected the country to lift the coveted cup, the spin wizard said in an interview released on Tuesday.
“I think the biggest achievement [for Afghanistan] should be, right now, what the team is looking for, what the country is expecting: Winning the T20 World Cup,” Khan said.
The website CricTracker quoted Khan as telling Ravi Ashwin on his show DRS with Ash: “We have all the skills, talent, and we just need to have that belief in ourselves that we can do it.”
The leggie argued his side had talented spinners, fast bowlers skilled batsmen to win the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan needed to play regularly against top teams, he added.
Afghanistan are slated to visit Australia for a one-off Test in December. “The moment we play more series with the best teams in the world, we can become a better team.”
Representing the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the 21-year-old will be seen in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins from September 19.
