Pak-Afghan Trade & Investment Forum next week

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The National Assembly will host the Pakistan Trade and Investment Forum 2020’ on October 26 and 27.

A 17-member Afghan parliamentary delegation, led by Wolesi Jirga Speaker Mir Rahman Rahmani, will participate in the two-day seminar.

The event marks the culmination of activities of the executive committee of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship group.

The group is working under the chairpersonship of National Speaker Asad Qaiser to enhance bilateral relations and remove impediments to transit and bilateral trade.

Afghanistan’s political and parliamentary leaders and representatives of the trade and investment community are also attending the seminar.

Political leaders, intelligentsia, academia, investors and traders of Pakistan will also attend the seminar.

Inter-parliamentary contacts, bilateral relations on trade, regional security issues and strategies to address outstanding issues between two countries would be discussed.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the opening ceremony on October 26 as chief guest. A video message of President Ashraf Ghani will also be telecast.

The seminar, seen as a harbinger of change, will put forth new perspectives on the issues faced by traders and investors in both countries.
