211 positive coronavirus cases registered in past 24hrs

KABUL (Pajhwok): Over 210 new positive coronavirus cases registered in the country in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Monday.

As many as 1,412 suspected samples brought to different laboratories nationwide in the past 24 hours out of which 211 were positive, the MoPH said in a statement.

With fresh 211 cases the total number of people affected by the coronavirus reached 49,484, while the number of people recovered from the virus so far is 38,410, according to the ministry.

With four fresh deaths from the respiratory pandemic, the number of total death surged to 1,975 in Afghanistan.

Of the fresh coronavirus cases, 43 registered in Kabul, 36 in Balkh, 32 in Panjsher, 20 in Herat, 15 in Parwan, 14 in Laghman, 10 in Kunduz, eight in Nangarhar, seven in Kandahar, five in Bamyan, four in Helmand, three each in Ghazni, Nimroz, Kunar, Faryab, two each in Kapesa and Logar and one each in Maidan Wardak province.
