Palace official wounded in Kabul IED attack

KABUL (Pajhwok): A deputy advisors to President’s Administrative office was wounded and his driver killed in an IED explosion in Kabul on Thursday morning.

Fazal Mahmood Fazli, the Administrative Office head, tweeted that Javed Wali, the deputy advisor, was wounded in the blast.

The deputy advisor’s driver Haji Bahramuddin, who was initially injured in the attack, succumbed to his wounds, Fazli wrote.

Firdos Faramarz, the Kabul police spokesman, confirmed the blast to Pajhwok Afghan News. The sticky bomb attached to a vehicle exploded at around 08:15am in Chehelsitoon area of Kabul.

There is no claim yet of responsibility for the bomb attack.

The incident happens amid growing concerns among Kabul residents at increasing magnetic bomb explosions and targeted killings in the city.
