Pajhwok reporter in Faryab shot injured

KABUL (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot and wounded Pajhwok Afghan News reporter Qutbuddin Kohi in northern Faryab province yesterday.

He was attacked and wounded in the bazaar of Maimana, the capital of Faryab, on Thursday evening.

Kohi told Pajhwok Afghan News he had been shot in the head but his condition was stable.

Alauddin, a reporter for Salam Watandar in Faryab, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “When Kohi got out of his car for shopping in the bazaar, he was shot with a silent gun and the attacker fled.”

Kohi is also the head of the province’s journalists’ association.

Pajhwok Afghan News editor-in-chief Danish Karokhel strongly condemned the incident and called on the authorities to find and punish the perpetrators.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
