Businessman among 3 civilians gunned down in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead three civilians in the Sholgara district of northern Balkh province, an official said on Wednesday.

Haji Hayatullah, a tribal elder from Sholgara district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in Pul-i-Barq village on Tuesday night.

He said Mohammad Ashraf, the owner of a poultry farm, was killed along with two of his workers.

“Mohammad Akbar was running a business in the area and he had no enmity with anyone,” Hayatullah added.

Local residents told Pajhwok Afghan News the perpetrators fled the area after committing the triple murder.

Adil Shah Adil, the Balkh police spokesman, confirmed the incident and said police had launched an investigation into the incident.
