Telecom antenna destroyed in Zabul

QALAT (Pajhwok): A senior official on Thursday said Taliban militants destroyed an antenna of the Afghan Wireless Telecommunication network by using artillery in southern Zabul province.

Deputy Governor Haji EnayatullahHotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Shinkai district late on Wednesday night.

Ha said, the Taliban shot and destroyed one Afghan wireless antenna.

He added it was the only telecommunication antenna in Shinkai district and its destruction deprived a large number of people of telecommunication services.

According to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the Taliban destroyed more than 200 telecom antennas in the past year.
