KABUL (Pajhwok): America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) chief William Burns recently paid an unannounced visit to Afghanistan, US media reports say.
The Associated Press quoted a credible source, as saying that Burns discussed the post-withdrawal situation with Afghan leaders.
AP quoted a senior former Afghan security official, as saying two of the six units trained and run by CIA to track militants had already been transferred to Afghan control.
Burns reportedly visited Kabul last week, but sources did not confirm his meeting with Afghan government officials.
AP said it contacted the CIA in Washington, but the spy service declined to comment.
