OIC, Delhi support Kabul’s fight against terrorism

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) chief has condemned as heinous the deadly bombing of a school for girls in Kabul.

At least 68 students were killed and nearly 190 others wounded in the attack on Syedul Shuhada Girls’ School on Saturday evening.

OIC Secretary-General Dr Youssef A. Al-Othaimeen expressed his heartfelt condolences to and sympathy with relatives of the victims.

According to the Riyadh Daily, he also expressed solidarity with the people and government of Afghanistan.

He renewed the principled and firm position of the OIC against all forms and manifestations of terrorism, regardless of its motives and causes.

Dr Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen voiced OIC’s absolute support for and solidarity with Afghanistan in its fight against the scourge of terrorism.

In New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said India always supported the education of Afghan youth and remained committed to the development of the war-hit ally

India condemned as “barbarous” the terrorist attack on the school and said the incident demonstrated the urgent need for dismantling terrorist sanctuaries and for a nation-wide ceasefire.
