KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan Ambassador to Japan Shaida Abdali during a meeting with Japan Deputy Director-General for the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau Kansuke Nagaoka discussed bilateral relations.
On his twitter handler Abdali wrote: “Met with Mr. Kansuke Nagaoka, Deputy Director-General for the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau of MoFA Japan. During the meeting, they spoke about the historical relations between Japan & Afg. and discussed various areas of bilateral relations.” “They also touched upon the recent development in the Afg. peace process, particularly the upcoming Istanbul Conference on Afg’s peace and ways Japan could contribute to the political settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan.”
They also discussed the possibility of initiating trilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanism for the continuation of post-peace development efforts in Afghanistan as the withdrawal of international troops opens a new chapter of cooperation and partnership between Afghanistan and the international community.”
Ambassador Abdali thanked the Government of Japan for condemning the recent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan and calling for a comprehensive and durable ceasefire.
