Afghanistan records 1485 Covid-19 cases, 77 deaths

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health on Monday announced detecting 1485 new coronavirus cases and recording 77 deaths from the infection during the past 24 hours nationwide.

A total of 4235 tests were conducted across the nation since yesterday and 1485 people were found infected with the virus, taking the overall tally to 127464, the ministry said in a statement.

Most cases (231) were recorded in western Herat province that borders Iran followed by 160 in Nangarhar and 123 in Kabul.

The period saw 834 people recovering from the infection and 77 dying, pushing the total death toll to 5360.
