KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said his government will never surrender to strategies that result in destruction of Afghanistan.
Addressing a gathering marking the National Flag Day, the president said foreign agencies and strangers’ plans to convert Afghanistan into a battlefield will never succeed, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
“Our voices are the voices of peace and all Afghans believe in peace and desire an honorable peace that ensures security and safety of everyone.”
He said: “We have a clear intention and plan for bringing peace and that is the protection of our values, ensuring peace and creation of order inside the country. Our plan is ready and will soon witness changes in the wake of this plan.”
Referring to the National Flag Day, Ghani said: “Our flag is our pride and unity and our security forces daily offer sacrifices to ensure this flag is hoisted and waving in the air.”
